What is the Rotary Club of Taipei?

The Rotary Club of Taipei (RCT, (www.rctaipei.org.tw) belongs to District 3480.  District 3480’s Governor for the 2016-2017 Rotary year is Mr. Kevin Liao (Rotarian Kevin), a member of Rotary Club of Taipei Min Kuan.

RCT was chartered on October 9, 1948.  The Charter Club President was C.K. Yen, Former President of the Republic of China.  The current Club President is Mr. Stephen Tan (Rotarian Stephen).  We are the FIRST Rotary Club in Taiwan and one of only two English-speaking clubs in D3480.  As of October 31, 2015, we have total 98 members (69 active members and 29 honorary members), from over 23 nationalities, including 13 female members.

What We Do

The many activities that RCT is engaged in include the following:

Service Projects – RCT organizes certain service projects and supports many others.  Our members can directly be involved in projects such as our hallmark RCT English Speech Contest for local college students which or our annual Beach Cleanup Day.

Fellowship – opportunities for our members to get together and enjoy each others’ company, either during our weekly luncheons or at certain special events, such as the RCT Christmas Party or a Taiwan Beer Garden get-together.

Vocational Services – RCT sponsors trips to different work environments to help promote a better understanding and appreciation of the diverse occupations and industries that our fellow members are in.

Exchanges – We organize opportunities to have mutual exchanges with other Rotary clubs, including overseas clubs.  We will regular sponsor international high school students and young Rotarians from other countries who wish to visit and learn more about Taiwan.
