Entering the Contest as a team
- We encourage our contestants to work with individuals with different backgrounds and skill sets to come up with creative and unique solutions to a current situation. The team may consist of 1 to 3 people.
- If you decide to enter as a team, then all members of each team must be present at the presentation. Any absentee from each team may constitute disqualification unless having prior written approval from RCT.
Submission Requirements
First Round (Video Submission) – Submitted by 6pm, March 1st, 2024 to taipeirc@gmail.com
Requirements are:
- The issue and solution concept presented in English.
- The video should be 5-7 minutes in length with good audiovisual quality.
- The video should clearly identify the need and the problem.
- The video should present a solution to a current situation needing change and also include other relevant information such as:
- List of stakeholders with details of their needs (E.g., beneficiaries, partnerships, investors, etc.).
- Name(s) individual contestant or team members, including a short resume.
- Plan of execution, including budget and timeframe. A PowerPoint document with detailed information on judging can be downloaded from the RCT website https://rctaipei.org.tw/page/supplemental-tools-for-your-reference
Semi-final and Final Presentation – March 17th, 2024
- Qualifiers advancing from the Preliminaries will compete on March 17, 2024. Semi-Final and Final Round will take place on site at Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei.
- Each individual, or team, will have 10 minutes of presentation without interruption from the judges.
- Points will be deducted if you go over 10 minutes or under 7 minutes.
Contest Rules and Regulations
- A team can have 1 to 3 team members.
- Business Casual is the preferred dress code for the contest.
- It is not compulsory for all team members to speak in the presentation, but each member is required to show up on stage and participate in the whole event.
- The presentation may include any audio and visual aids that the team considers appropriate.
- RCT will provide a computer with PowerPoint software and projector to assist your presentation. Any team requiring proprietary software and equipment to demonstrate their plan is responsible for its provision and installation.
- To maintain fairness to all contestants, please refrain from using cellphones or mobile devices during the contest.
- Contestants can sit in on other presentations, only after completion of their own presentation.
