Rules, Regulations and Important Information

  • Business Casual is the preferred dress code for the contest.
  • It is not compulsory for all team members to speak in the presentation, but each member is required to show up on stage and participate in the whole event.
  • The presentation may include audio and visual aids that the team considers appropriate.
  • RCT will provide a computer with PowerPoint software and projector to assist your presentation. Any team requiring proprietary software and equipment to demonstrate their plan is responsible for its provision and installation.
  • To maintain fairness to all contestants, please refrain from using cellphones during the contest.
  • Contestants will not be allowed to listen in the preliminary rounds, however, can listen through the entirety of the final rounds.
  • One Bento Box will be offered to contestants, and one additional for their companion.
 

Confidentiality and Intellectual Property disclaimer

  • The authors of the social solution plan will retain all proprietary rights to the plan regarding its use at all times prior to and following the contest
  • All contestants will be responsible for taking the proper steps to protect their intellectual property.
  • RCT, judges, reviewers, staff or the audience will not sign non-disclosure statements.
  • All public sessions of the contest, including but not limited to oral presentations and question/answer sessions, are open to the public at large. Any and all of these public sessions may be broadcast to interested persons through media which may include radio, television and the Internet. Any data or information discussed or divulged in public sessions by entrants should be considered information that will likely enter the public realm, and entrants should not assume any right of confidentiality in any data or information discussed, divulged or presented in these sessions.
  • RCT may make photocopies, photographs, video recordings and/or audio recordings of the presentations including the written plans and other documents, charts or material prepared for use in the presentations at the RCT ESSC. RCT has non-exclusive world three rights in all languages, and in all media, to use or to publish the materials in any other medium.
